McAlester council splits on highway construction vote

McALESTER — The McAlester city council has returned again to the debate about the planned work to revamp U.S. Highway 69 as it passes through the eastern edge of the city.

At question — whether to approve approximately $984,000 to pay for relocating the city’s utilities along the highway.
