OKLAHOMA CITY – Lawmakers could have an agreement on the state’s budget this week, the governor’s chief negotiator said Friday.
With just two weeks remaining in the legislative session, state Treasurer Scott Meacham hinted that legislative leaders and Gov. Brad Henry were close to finalizing a budget agreement for the state’s Fiscal Year 2011 budget, which will take effect July 1.
That agreement, expected later this week, comes as the state announces its tax revenue figures for April. Meacham is expected to release those figures Tuesday.
“I think you’re going to see something happen, one way or another, this week,” Meacham said. “I wouldn’t take any time off.”... FULL ARTICLE
