The Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority will receive a $378,000 TIGER II grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to perform an environmental assessment of the Greater Downtown Oklahoma City area. The grant is one of 75 that were awarded nationwide.

“An environmental analysis is a critical step forward in developing strategic transit options in the Downtown area. It will build on the results of the Alternatives Analysis study that is currently underway,” said Rick Cain, COTPA administrator.

The AA is designed to investigate and recommend the most appropriate route and transit technologies for the greater downtown area, taking into consideration infrastructure, economic prosperity, health, environmental protection, neighborhood preservation and quality of life.
