TULSA – The aviation manufacturing sector is expected to grow in the upper single digits for the remainder of this year, with low double-digit growth in 2012, said an industry expert.
Hal Chrisman, a principal in AeroStrategy LLC, addressed the opening session of the Oklahoma Aerospace Alliance Aerospace Summit at the Tulsa Convention Center on Tuesday.
Yet, any future growth will be dependent on the fluctuation of fuel prices, Chrisman said.
“The best scenario for the market will be oil prices around the $80-a-barrel range, while the worst would be anything at $110 per barrel or higher,” Chrisman said.
About 735 people and 55 exhibitors registered for the summit.
Gov. Mary Fallin was one of the founders of the summit when she was the state’s lieutenant governor, said Mary Smith, executive director of the Oklahoma Aerospace Alliance.
“It is fitting that she be at the summit to celebrate the industry again, but now as governor,” Smith said... FULL ARTICLE
