So much of Interstate-44 in the Tulsa area is under construction already and now there is a new section of that highway that will be affecting drivers, this one stretching from 41st street headed east to its junction with the Broken Arrow Expressway.
This is a $12-million project that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says will begin today.
If you can picture the area, you'll remember that there is a ramp from Westbound I-44 to 41st Street and part of this project will move that ramp further to the west and relocate it to near Hudson Avenue.
The project will expand I-44 from four lanes to six lanes. ODOT officials say the project is expected to take a year to finish.
