More motorists, higher gas prices expected for Memorial Day weekend, through the summer

Prices expected to increase at gas stations during the Memorial Day weekend

Years of lower gas prices have resulted in a surge in summer road trips.

And while prices at the pump are at the highest point in some time, it is still not enough to discourage travelers to ditch their plans.

“The American road trip is game-on in a big way this year,” said Mark Madeja, AAA Oklahoma spokesman. “Travel the last couple of years has been gradually increasing every major holiday that we’ve seen, and this one is going to blow up.” FULL ARTICLE
