The Oklahoma Department of Transportation began Monday removing two inches of asphalt on Main Street from Okmulgee Avenue to Shawnee Bypass.
The state maintenance project will cost $830,000 and is slated to be completed within 90 days, said Troy Travis of ODOT in Muskogee.
“We’re planning to mill out two inches of asphalt and put back two inches of hot mix/hot lay asphalt in its place,” he said.
One-lane street closings will be temporary in nature, he said.
