The Neosho River Bridge project is a six-month project, and a $3.1 million bridge rehabilitation. The bridge was built in 1967 and is considered structurally deficient.

MIAMI — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has placed electronic reader boards on either end of the State Highway 125 Neosho River Bridge/TSGT Jason Norton Memorial Bridge in Miami announcing the specific date of Sept. 4, as when the bridge re-decking project will begin.

ODOT now expects the project to cause closure and detours from 150 to 180 days once work commences.

“It’s important to note – the project starts the 4th, but we don’t yet have a date for when SH-125 will close,” ODOT Division 8 Public Information Manager Kenna Mitchell said. “The contractor will first be establishing traffic controls, moving equipment to the site, etc. I’ll have the advisory out the last week of August and we should have the closure date by then.” FULL ARTICLE
