Interesting post Tim. Talking generally and not slccifieaply about your series of image: Every image ever taken, tells a story, every single one. Some stories are literal and obvious My son was there This sunset was pretty This Bear is in Captivity some are more obscure, I like the patterns in this puddle caused by rain drops or The interaction of light and shadow on this flower macro made me take this shot etc .But every image is an image of something and there is always a WHY. So, with your series, the WHY of every image is open to debate from third party viewers. The difference between fine art landscape photography and reportage are worlds apart. You have snapped your way across the State, and I like the series. Every one tells me why you took it. I can see either graphic, patterns or colorful stimuli, incongruity or statements of humanity. Over on my website I have started publishing a series of articles called The Language of Light, where I discuss these very issues, Photography as a Visual Language. Best wishes have a good trip.
