No trains have been ticketed under new law against blocking roads

Oklahoma City, Okla. (KOKH) — It's been about 10 days since it has been illegal for trains to block an intersection for more than 10 minutes.

Since then, complaints haven't slowed down.

"We have definitely received more complaints since the statute went into effect on Monday July 1," said Sarah Terry-Cobo with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

The Corporation Commission is responsible for fining railroad companies, but the original tickets have to be written by city police, sheriff's offices and highway patrol.
