ENID — Northern Oklahoma College Enid has been busy planting trees as part of a beautification project.
The school was awarded a $24,800 Oklahoma Department of Transportation highway beautification grant. With the money, NOC purchased 50 trees to be placed along Northern Hills Golf Course where it borders U.S. 412.
“The past two years, we have worked with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to get grants for trees along the highway,” said Ed Vineyard, NOC Enid vice president. “We have got about $20,000 each year to plant to trees. Last year the trees were planted on the east side of the golf course and this year they are planting the trees on the west side.” FULL ARTICLE
