CATOOSA — A portion of an historical bridge now graces the property of a local eatery.
A 210-foot steel truss from the Oklahoma 66 bridge over Bird Creek has been moved to the landscaping of nearby Molly’s Landing, said Randle White, a Division 8 engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The westbound bridge, constructed in 1936, is being rebuilt.
Molly’s Landing has agreed to maintain the state-owned truss, which was moved to the property by Manhattan Road and Bridge of Tulsa, White said.
The new bridge is scheduled to open in early 2012, he said.
