ODOT awards funds to fix Central Plastics access road

A project to improve the roads at Georg Fischer Central Plastics in Shawnee is moving forward thanks to recent action by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

A project to improve the roads at Georg Fischer Central Plastics in Shawnee is moving forward thanks to recent action by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission. At its Jan. 7 meeting, the commission approved the use of Industrial Access Road Program funds to improve North Leo Avenue and Independence Street, which connect the facility to nearby US-177/US-270.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) will commit up to $275,000 in state funds and Georg Fischer Central Plastics is contributing $25,000 toward the project, Cody Boyd, of the ODOT Media & Public Relations Division, said.
