SHAWNEE, Okla. — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has awarded two road construction projects for more than $2.2 million for sections of State Highway 9 and Interstate 40 in Pottawatomie County.
The contractors do not anticipate any sections of SH-9 to be closed during the five-month construction phase. Midstate Traffic Control Inc, the contractors for the I-40 project, said that sections of I-40 will be narrowed to one lane during portions of the construction.
Crews will install and upgrade guardrails east along I-40 for eight miles starting at SH 18. There is not a start date set, but the project is expected to take up to three months... FULL ARTICLE
