MADILL, OK - We first told you in July about a dangerous intersection in Marshall County that had caught the eye of the director of transportation for Oklahoma. On Thursday the director was back in Marshall County to give residents an update on several changes that they will be making across the county to make travel easier and safer. Dara Downs has more.
ODOT director Gary Ridley's stop in Madill today is just one of many he'll be making across the state this year to update citizens on what projects the department is working on and how their money is being spent, from major highway projects to intersection modifications that could save lives.
Ridley spoke about several projects the department is gearing up to begin in Marshall County, including the addition of a left-hand turn lane along Highway 70 that will eventually be a part of a four lane bypass that will direct traffic around Madill.
"It should give some relief through town as you're traveling through town, but again that is only a temporary stop gap measure until we get the reliever route completed around town. Now that is a long process," Ridley says... FULL ARTICLE & WATCH VIDEO
