QuikTrip Corp.'s plan to put one of its newly designed stores on Gilcrease Museum Road is moving forward, just not as quickly as the convenience store chain would like.
"We're fine with the city of Tulsa and everything else," QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh said Wednesday.
"We're still waiting on the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. We've been told it can take as long as three months to get approval."
The issue, Thornbrugh said, is that QuikTrip would like to buy a sliver of land from the state that could be used as part of the project.
"It's property that can never be used for anything and has no value whatsoever to it," he said.
ODOT spokeswoman Kenna Mitchell said the department did not receive Quik- Trip's formal request until Dec. 21...
