ODOT inspects bridges after earthquakes

After both of Saturday’s earthquakes, the 4.7 hitting in the early morning and the 5.6 striking later that night the Oklahoma Department of Transportation sent inspectors out in a 50 miles radius around both epicenters to look for cracks in their maintained bridges.

They only found one part of Highway 62 that needed repair. Crews shut down the roadway in Lincoln County for an hour while they fixed it.

“It was showing some signs of the pavement pushed together and cracked,” says ODOT spokesperson Kenna Mitchell.
