The impact of the earthquake was felt throughout Oklahoma and several border states. However, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says no visible damage has been reported so far.
ODOT Spokeswoman Terry Angier says bridges and roads are designed to withstand vibrations and movements and that any big damage would already be visible to the public. She says crews are already in the field to assess possible damage.
The Department of Central Services and the Department of Public Safety are reviewing state facilities and buildings for damage.
The earthquake struck around 9:06 a.m. Wednesday. The Oklahoma Geological Survey said the quake measured a magnitude 5.1, making it the second-most powerful in state history.
