The
Oklahoma Department of Transportation will have a public meeting about
a proposed project to replace the S.H. 33 bridges over Cottonwood Creek
and a BNSF railroad in Guthrie. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at First
Christian Church, 402 E. Noble.
The purpose of the meeting is to
keep the public informed of this project and involved in the
decision-making process. It will include a presentation on the need for
the project and issues that have been identified in the early stages of
project development.
The goal of the proposed project is to
improve the safety of the existing S.H. 33 bridges over Cottonwood
Creek and the BNSF railroad, reduce congestion on S.H. 33 and address
flooding concerns in the area.
The S.H. 33 bridge over
Cottonwood Creek was built in 1937 and an average of 11,500 vehicles
travel this section of S.H. 33 daily.
Persons who would like
to attend this meeting, but find it difficult due to disability,
architectural barrier or other special needs, or require a
sign-language interpreter, should contact Craig Moody at 522-1465
