ODOT plans to 'proceed' on Carl Albert Parkway project

No, no and no.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation Division 2 Engineer Anthony Echelle stood before a standing-room-only crowd at City Hall on Tuesday night and heard complaint after complaint regarding the joint city/ODOT project to remove signal lights along Carl Albert Parkway.

Some also strongly criticized the traffic barriers an ODOT contractor erected along Carl Albert Parkway from First through Fifth Streets, which several speakers felt had the effect of cutting the city in half.

Despite the flurry of criticism, ODOT’s intent is to proceed with perhaps a few modifications, such as lowering the height of some of the traffic barricades to make it easier for drivers to see over or through them.
