ODOT projects reviewed at chamber meeting

Members of the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce recently heard about Oklahoma Department of Transportation operations and plans from Casey Shell, ODOT director of operations.

Shell spoke to the chamber members at their monthly luncheon meeting held at Carl Albert State College Sallisaw campus.

Shell said ODOT, under the leadership of ODOT Director Gary Ridley, has initiated an eight-year construction program, which extends from 2010 to 2018. Shell said ODOT construction programs were “piecemeal” in the 1980s, but then the Oklahoma Legislature designated money for ODOT and Ridley and ODOT personnel began planning for the future.
