ODOT raises veil on proposed bypass

Trying to get information from state transportation officials about their plans for U.S. 69 in Muskogee seems to be more difficult as the clock ticks closer to a public meeting that is supposed to take place in January.
The public meeting for which information and data will be provided about a proposed bypass — and possibly other options — is an event scores of people have been anticipating since learning of the proposal a year ago. News of the proposed bypass, to which an oblique reference was made in an eight-year plan approved in 2017, sparked outrage among residents and local government officials.
Cody Boyd, a spokesman for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, said agency officials "are still shooting for a January meeting," but no date has been set and no location secured. Boyd was unable to describe with any certainty the public meeting's format... FULL ARTICLE
