OKLAHOMA CITY-- Oklahoma transportation officials met Monday to discuss a number of items on their monthly agenda, including distribution of grant funds and improving rural transit. They also received an award.
Amtrak awarded The Oklahoma Department of Transportation the "2010 President's Service and Safety Award" for partnership on the Heartland Flyer with Texas.
"To the employee it means a train that they can be proud of, not only as the employees that work on the train, but know that the folks that's backing and paying for this train has also been on it," said Joy Smith, Amtrak Superintendent for Passenger Services.
