ODOT, Staff Receive Multiple Awards for Projects, Service
During the Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting Monday, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation was recognized with awards for quality concrete projects, leadership in the usage of alternative fuels and contributions to nationwide public transit issues.
ODOT received three “Excellence in Concrete Pavement” awards from the American Concrete Pavement Association. The national awards recognized ODOT and its contractors for safe, efficient and durable concrete pavement projects in the state. One Oklahoma project received a gold award while two others received silver awards.
The Gold Award in the State Roads category was presented to ODOT for the US-59 Wildhorse Mountain project in Sequoyah County. The 1.6-mile project widened US-59 from two to four lanes and removed curves in the roadway. The project was completed on budget, ahead of schedule and resulted in a wider, safer and smoother highway in a scenic area of the state... FULL ARTICLE
