Motorists
traveling along westbound Interstate 244 next week will see real-time
traffic updates as construction begins on a road project.
Work will begin Monday to repair the westbound I-244 bridges over US-169, Mingo Road and 89th East Avenue.
Construction on the $4 million project is expected to take about seven months. About 76,000 vehicles use the highway daily.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will be using a new
traffic update system to give workzone condition alerts on message
boards to drivers who will encounter various lane and ramp closures
during construction.
Eight traffic sensors will be set up in the area to monitor traffic speeds.
