The Oklahoma City Council accepted an initial recommendation Tuesday for a streetcar route that would connect MidTown to Bricktown.
“This represents about four miles of the five- to six-mile route as part of the MAPS 3 budget,” MAPS program manager Eric Wenger said.
The route, recommended by the MAPS 3 Transit/Modern Streetcar subcommittee and the MAPS 3 Citizens Advisory Board, would run in a loop between Bricktown on the south to NW 13 on the north.
City officials said this recommendation is just a beginning point and would be subject to change given engineering studies, future council input, the eventual location for the intermodal transportation hub and the selection of a convention center site, also to be funded through MAPS 3...
