Oklahoma elections: Engineer seeks Senate District 47 post

Todd Brawley is the fifth Republican to announce candidacy for Senate District 47, which covers parts of northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond.

Transportation engineer Todd Brawley wants to build a road to the state Senate.

Brawley, 45, on Monday became the fifth Republican to announce candidacy for Senate District 47, which covers parts of northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond.

The seat will be vacated when Lt. Gov.-elect Todd Lamb leaves office Jan. 10.

“I don’t know of another engineer in the Legislature right now. I think it’s important to broaden the spectrum of the conversation,” he said.

Brawley runs an engineering firm that has done several road and bridge projects for the state Transportation Department, Turnpike Authority and local governments statewide.
