Oklahoma plans to spend billions on road, bridge repairs

Transportation secretary says $33 million to be spent in Muskogee County

The state plans to spend $4.3 billion in eight years on road and bridge work in areas, including Muskogee County.

In a recent visit to Muskogee, Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley said the Oklahoma Department of Transportation will tackle the plan between 2011 and 2018.

It includes 25 projects in four counties: Muskogee, $33 million; Cherokee, $74.7 million; Wagoner, $19.5 million; and McIntosh, $43 million.

The four counties are all part of ODOT’s Division 1, which also includes Adair, Sequoyah, Haskell and Okmulgee counties. The total planned for Division 1 is more than $378 million... FULL ARTICLE
