OKLAHOMA CITY -- State general fund collections for September came in slightly above estimates, State Treasurer Scott Meacham reported Tuesday, pushing revenues for the first quarter of the fiscal year $45.8 million above expectations and $74.8 million higher than for the same period a year ago.
September collections totaled $459.7 million, or 6 percent more than a year ago and 1.7 percent more than estimates.
“Compared to the first quarter of last year, we are seeing growth in every major revenue source,” Meacham said. “Compared to the estimate, the only area where we are behind last year’s numbers is in gross production taxes on natural gas.”
