Oklahoma Transportation Commission: SH-9 resurface project gains nod

This week, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission approved a couple projects in Pottawatomie County — the resurfacing of SH 9 and rehabilitation of a bridge on US-270.

The price tag for the resurfacing contract of nearly 5.5 miles (beginning just east of SH 102 and moving east toward Tecumseh) totals $504,240.09.

The contractor awarded the job is Markwell Paving Company, Inc., of Oklahoma City.

The project is estimated to take just more than a month to complete, minus any unforeseen delays, like bad weather.

Commissioners awarded 25 contracts totaling more than $78 million to improve highways, roads and bridges in 22 counties. Contracts were awarded for projects in Blaine, Bryan, Canadian, Craig, Creek, Custer, Greer, Johnston, LeFlore, Love, McIntosh, Murray, Muskogee, Nowata, Oklahoma, Pawnee, Payne, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Tulsa counties...
