With federal road dollars flowing into Oklahoma again, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation approved 37 previously deferred road projects Monday that total about $50 million.
Department commissioners did not award the projects during last month's meeting because a federal bill to fund thousands of road projects was delayed, and its money had not reached the state's pockets.
Gary Ridley, ODOT director, said the department began receiving the money late last month. In all, ODOT receives about $500 million a year from the federal government.
"We did receive those funds about 11 days ago," Ridley said. "That side of the equation has been resolved."
