Rail upgrade will serve booming energy exploration area in Anadarko Basin

WASHINGTON — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation was a winner Thursday in a highly competitive federal grant program, securing nearly $6.8 million to upgrade a rail line in western Oklahoma that serves the energy industry.
The grant was one of 46 projects that won approval out of 848 applications submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
