Oklahomans want to see safer two-lane highways, more passenger rail and better connection among transportation systems, Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials said Wednesday.
The department hosted a public meeting Wednesday afternoon at the Central Library downtown to discuss its long-term and short-term planning, which includes bridge replacements and other projects in northeastern Oklahoma.
ODOT polling from last year showed that people would like increased maintenance and shoulder construction on two-lane highways, dedicated truck lanes, better inter-modal connectivity and expanded passenger rail systems, said Craig Moody, public involvement officer with the department.
ODOT is taking these requests into account during final development of its Long Range Plan 2035 and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan, which involves projects for the next four years... FULL ARTICLE
