Republican and Democratic contenders for the 5th Congressional District seat seemed to share frustration with the military conflict in Afghanistan, but disagreed Thursday over whether so-called tea parties in the state were racist.
"Driving around and getting blown up is not a solution to terrorism," said Billy Coyle, an Oklahoma City Democrat.
Five Republicans and two Democratic candidates were asked questions for an hour during a forum that was taped at KFOR-4's Oklahoma City studios. The forum is scheduled to be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday on KFOR-4.
The television station did not invite two Republican candidates, Rick Flanigan, of Bethany, and Harry Johnson, of Oklahoma City, because they received less than 2 percent support during a recent poll. Two independent candidates, Dave White and Clark Duffe, both of Edmond, weren't included because they already are assured spots on the Nov. 2 general election ballot... FULL ARTICLE
