OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The state's two largest universities on Friday demanded that a group promoting a ballot measure to increase education spending stop using their logos in an advertisement.
The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University sent Yes on 744 a letter asking the group to "cease and desist from broadcasting the misleading YES ON 744 advertisement in any form."
State Question 744 is a proposed constitutional amendment that would require Oklahoma within three years to meet the regional average of per-student spending in surrounding states. It will be on the November ballot.
Walton Robinson, a spokesman for Yes on 744, said Friday afternoon the group had not received a mailed copy of the letter "so we will address that when we do." FULL ARTICLE
