Attorneys representing the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University have sent a letter to the YES ON 744 Coalition that forbids the use of university logos in all of its campaign materials.
The letter was dated Thursday and signed by Anil Gollahalli and Charles Drake, general counsel for OU and OSU, respectively. The Oklahoman received an e-mailed copy of the letter Friday from the OU vice president of communication.
"The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University formally request that the YES ON 744 Coalition cease and desist from broadcasting the misleading YES ON 744 advertisement in any form, whether such broadcast be over the air, on cable networks, on the Internet or otherwise," it states.
State Question 744 is a measure that would require per-student spending for common education to be brought to the average of surrounding states. Opponents say the requirement likely would force funding cuts to most, if not all, other state services. FULL ARTICLE
