NORMAN — Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma want supporters of State Question 744 to stop using the logos of the two schools in a campaign advertisement.

The proposed constitutional amendment would require the state within three years to meet the regional average of per-student spending in surrounding states.

In an ad promoting the proposal, families are shown watching a game on television. One is wearing OU’s colors while the other is wearing OSU gear.

“We urge those running the media campaign for State Question 744 to stop running an ad which could cause some voters to get the false impression that colleges and universities, including OU and OSU, are supporting the proposal,” said OU President David Boren and OSU President Burns Hargis in an e-mailed statement...
