Oklahomans have more confidence in Republicans to handle the state's budget crisis but don't seem to have great faith in either party, according to the most recent Oklahoma Poll.
Forty-two percent of those surveyed said the GOP is best-suited to guide state government through its tight financial straits. About one-quarter preferred Democrats, while 15 percent said neither and 9 percent said both.
The difference, said poll respondent Clarence Roberts of Mannford, is honesty.
"I have come to realize the things I hold dear — that is, liberty, truth and justice — is represented by the Republican Party," said Roberts. "As time goes on, the honesty factor continues to erode the Democratic Party...
