Primaries key factor in area

They will fill four legislative seats before the general election.

The July 27 primary election ballot may be top-heavy with statewide and congressional offices, but it will also decide four Tulsa-area legislative seats, determine the Republican nominee in two other districts and could set general election match-ups in two more.

Of the eight area districts with primaries, seven — Senate Districts 10 and 34 and House Districts 35, 66, 68, 74 and 76 — involve Republicans.

Democratic primaries will take place in House Districts 66, 68 and 73.

The Republican primaries in Senate District 34 and House Districts 74 and 76 and the Democratic primary in House District 73 will determine the winners of those seats.
