Project aimed at fixing congestion on Edmond I-35 corridor

Edmond, Okla — The stretch of Interstate 35 running through Edmond is getting more crowded if you ask some of its daily commuters.

"It's just busy," said David Fagnant, one of those drivers. "Rush hour, morning, afternoon around here, it gets a little hectic."

A study done by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the City of Edmond found that the design of the corridor is outdated.

"We have a lot of areas where it doesn't function very well right now," said Cody Boyd, a spokesman for ODOT. "When it was built, there was not a lot of development, not a lot of commuter traffic like we have today." FULL ARTICLE
