Rep. James Lankford released the following statement:
Washington, D.C. – Congressman James Lankford (R-OK) is pleased to welcome Congressman John Mica (R-FL), Chairman of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, to Oklahoma City for a field hearing on “Improving and Reforming our Nation’s Surface Transportation Programs.” The Committee will hear testimony from a variety of witnesses to gain a better understanding of transportation issues in the state.
“It is a great honor to have Chairman Mica make the trip to Oklahoma for this hearing to have an open discussion on the issues facing our highways and roads,” said Congressman Lankford. “There are major challenges to improving surface transportation here in Oklahoma so that it works better for all citizens and businesses.”
“We need to make our transit systems more effective and efficient to improve travel and increase economic productivity to create jobs. I look forward to testimony from our witnesses. It will provide the committee with invaluable insight to help the federal government better implement policy that will address our surface transportation problems and prepare our country for future economic growth.”
