Project four lanes on top, six lanes under will relieve traffic congestion

NEWCASTLE — A new four-lane bridge to carry State Highway 9 over Interstate 35 is an early step to relieving traffic congestion in that area, a state Transportation Department spokesman said Tuesday.
The $4 million project just south of the Canadian River started March 22 and is expected to be completed early next year.
The bridge’s south side is scheduled to be done by early fall.
Transportation Department spokesman David Meuser said the bridge will be large enough to accommodate four lanes on top and six lanes beneath it... FULL ARTICLE
