Roadwork on bypass nearing completion

The highways running through Tahlequah are getting a makeover, as Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews have been working on a resurfacing project on the Bertha Parker Bypass.

ODOT has been resurfacing from the intersection of State Highway 51 and Highway 82, near Walmart, extending northeast down U.S. 62.

"Every year, we receive funds to do basically this type of work," said Chris Wallace, engineer for ODOT. "We have to look through our entire eight counties [in ODOT's Division 1] to determine which needs it most. The old surface had seen its better days and was getting to the point that it was needing to be replaced." FULL ARTICLE
