NORMAN — The Rock Creek Road bridge over Interstate 35 will be opened to traffic Tuesday following a public dedication.
Norman Mayor Cindy Rosenthal, state Transportation Department officials and representatives of the Norman Chamber of Commerce will cut a ribbon at 5 p.m., marking the official opening. Following the ribbon-cutting on the west side of the bridge, a ceremonial crossing will occur with bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists participating.
A public reception will follow at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 2501 Conference Drive, just east of 24th Avenue NW.
The $12 million bridge is the most “pedestrian-friendly” bridge in the city, with 10-foot-wide paved walking and biking paths built on each side of it, Norman Public Works Director Shawn O'Leary said... FULL ARTICLE
