FORT GIBSON — Rossco Construction of Muskogee was low bidder in the bid selection process for the Fort Gibson Downtown Enhancement Project — but the town won’t initially have the number of light poles originally planned.
The board of trustees decided at Monday’s regular board meeting to recommend Rossco to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as their bid winner.
However, the town also decided to go with an alternate plan for the design of the project.
“Instead of 40 poles they’ll have 14 with the ability to add the other poles later,” said Architect Mike Martin of Spaces, Design & Architecture Inc.
The Downtown Enhancement Project includes a grant from ODOT plus matching funds from the town that equals about $375,000.
The plan is to put in new sidewalks, with brick trim, and new light poles that are historically accurate in detail... FULL ARTICLE
