With Election Day drawing close, Oklahomans are sure to hear and see more and more about State Question 744, which would mandate that Oklahoma's per-pupil spending on K-12 education be raised to the regional average. The measure could devastate other state services, including other areas of education.
It's a bad idea, but don't just take The Oklahoman's word for it. Consider the groups and businesses that have lined up on either side of the issue. Below we list those who are for and against 744, based on news stories and information provided by each side's websites.
