Rural Republican senators announce 2010 agenda

– Members of the Oklahoma Senate’s Republican Rural Caucus said they would continue their push to protect agricultural tax cuts, work to bring more funds for county roads and bridges and prevent the consolidation of rural public schools during a Capitol press conference to announce their 2010 legislative agenda.

Late last week, Rural Caucus Chairman Ron Justice, R-Chickasha, said caucus members wanted to “continue their efforts in protecting the resources and assets that are vital to the well-being of Oklahoma’s economic development and job growth.”

“Oklahoma citizens have seen their fair share of difficult times,” Justice said. “Even now, families across our state and throughout rural Oklahoma are forced to make tough decisions in order to deal with the struggling economy.”
