SHAWNEE, Okla. — Shawnee city commissioners approved a workman’s compensation and tort settlement Monday that will cost the city $50,000.
The city will initially pay the full amount of the $60,000 settlement but the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group will reimburse the city $10,000.
“Part of this is a workman’s comp claim, part of it is a tort claim,” City Attorney Mary Ann Karns said.
“We’ve settled with them for $15,000 a piece, which is a total of $60,000.”
