People driving on U.S. 69 south of Muskogee likely will have a smoother ride by the end of the year, officials with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation say.
Meanwhile, motorists could again fill up and get an Egg McMuffin on the Muskogee Turnpike as early as April. Reconstruction of parts of U.S. 69 and reopening of the Muskogee Turnpike Plaza are among several state and county projects set for the next few months.
ODOT plans to replace bumpy and cracked parts of U.S. 69 sometime between early May and early August, said Darren Saliba, ODOT division engineer.
“Right now, the highway is manageable, but in a couple of years, it will become more problematic,” Saliba said, explaining that freezing precipitation over the years is cracking the pavement... FULL ARTICLE
