— We want you to be average.
That’s not normally a message you will tell your children when they’re in school.
It’s not a good message to send to students either.
But that’s exactly the message State Question 744 will send if passed.
SQ 744 would require Oklahoma to increase the amount of money spent on each student in public schools to a regional average — there’s that word, average.
As today’s Sunday Extra points out, that equates to approximately $2,000, per student more. With about 462,000 students in public education, Oklahoma would have to spend approximately $924 million more a year... FULL ARTICLE
